CHAPBOOK
We’re working on a putting together a handcrafted chapbook, modeled on ephemera — printed material ranging from pamphlets, political and religious tracts to pornography, poetry, folk tales, children’s literature and almanacs — popular from the sixteenth through to the later part of the nineteenth century. The term is derived from chapmen, a variety of peddler, who circulated such literature as part of their stock.
The core of our text will be the Green Art Manifesto accompanied by thirty-three of our reclaimed words and thirty-three one-page stories drawn from our trials and tribulations as peddlers of green art on NYC streets.
Each chapbook element will be done by hand, including paper, hand painting and silk screening each page, stitching the binding, etc.
Each chapbook will take about 4 days to make.
We’ll be producing one a month for twelve months, available only on our favorite street corner in Brooklyn.
RECLAIMED ELECTRONIC CRAFT
Over the next few months we’ll be playing around with reclaimed solar panels, pickle tank wood and handmade organic oyster cement. We’ll see what oddity comes out the other side!
